Sliding Tool Box With Cargo Managment System

Recommended Posts

Do any of you have, or know someone with, the sliding tool box for the cargo managment system on the new trucks? I was wanting to know how it worked, slid, looked. If it stuck up or was flush with the sides of the bed. I had a sliding box on the Nissan Titan and it sucked. It didn't slide easily and was a pain in the @ss to unlock and lock. This one looks to be better. I would like to see one or hear something about it before droping $549.70 on one from gmpartsdirect.com.

I have one in my NBS and I really like it. It sits flush and it slides back on the rail system very easy. It locks/unlocks very easy. Mine came in painted silver with a clearcoat finish. So far, I am very happy. :banghead:

Any pictures?

You said its painted silver. That might clash with my silver birch truck. When my truck is beside a silver ford you can really tell the diffrence in silver birch and silver. I wouldn't want that in my bed. Does it come in polished alum., or black? Thanks for the feedback. :banghead:

I actually have that as well, in the painted silver. My truck is an 07 nbs in silver birch and it blends really well. I was surprised at first that it wasn't aluminum diamond plate, but now that I have had it for awhile I like how unobtrusive the color is. I also have the sliding bed divider with the toolbox, the only drawback to this arrangement is how little bed space is left. The divider ends up being kind of useless - if you want to haul any lumber you end up setting it on top of the toolbox and the tailgate rather than in the bed. Overall the locking toolbox has been a good add-on (fits a set of golf clubs inside as well).

In the pictures on the net it appears to be slightly off the floor (this would make since since it moves in the bed). Is it so close to the floor you can't put anything under it? ie. sheet of plywood, sheetrock. How much space would you estimate is between the bottom of the tool box and the bed?

There is a gap below the box and yes, you can fit several pieces of plywood under there. What is really cool, is the way they set up the locking system. It comes in and the first time you install it, you insert your ignition key and it self codes to match your key, so no more carrying extra keys for the toolbox! :flag:

Thats a sweet set up for coding the key!! I think I just found my next accessory. Where did you get yours? Dealer or net?

From the angle of the picture, it looks like you don’t have much room to get your key into the lock from the side. Is that the case or just the angle of the shot?

Here's a pic of mine as well. I love it. Slides excellent, locks with truck key, lots of storage space inside and you can actually fit things underneathe. There is lots of room for the key to unlock it. To me the best feature of all is you can still put a cover on top of it, not to mention for a tool box it looks great. I paid $750CDN for the tool box at the dealer. Hope that helps.
