Ok so the first wax job i did on my new - to - me truck was less than professional. I got wax all over the plastic trim. I mean everywhere - wheel wells, fenders, grille, side door guard thing, everywhere.

idiot :pimp:

now my black truck looks like it has leprosy.

i haven't been able to get it off in the subsequent washings.

any suggestions? :)

Don't wax your truck when you are drunk or in the dark! :)

WAX ON PLASTIC TRIM

haha my first mistake was buying the truck in the dark - i didn't notice all the baked in water spots!

thanks fellas!

I'd use a clay bar on the whole truck first. If that didn't work...A VERY light solution of vinegar helps on water spots on the windows....Not sure what it'd do to paint though.

Depending on the wax back to black wont remove. Best thing I found was a white eraser. Works great

For wax on the black pastic, I use rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. I've also heard of people using peanut butter with good results, but I haven't tried it. The truck would smell good though. :P

Here is my tip for the water spots. I had the same thing happen when I bought my last truck from the owners. I just bought some scratch and swirl mark remover and a damp cotton wax applicator pad and a lot of elbow grease. It got all of the water marks off then I finished it off with EagleOne Nano wax and it brought back a near perfect shine. Your results may vary slightly. And then I use the Nano spray wax for every other wash or once a month, to keep a nice wax for beading the water away between waxes.

For the trim you could always use an old toothbrush to scrub the trim with water and Mr. Clean solution.
