Air Bag Ready Light

Does anyone know what would cause the 'air bag ready light' to come after driving awhile? It is intermittent and does not stay on long. It comes on, may for 5-10 sec and than goes out. It might do it once or twice on a 45 minute ride. It is driving me crazy Can this be detect by an engine code reader? (2003 Chevy Silverado, Ext. cab, 4 wd, 5.3L)

Usually a bad ground. Clean the grounds espically on the engine & at the arming sensors.

Thanks, I will definitely give that a try. Hate to have a head on, only to find out my air bag did not deploy
