Bought Full Length Console - Simple Bolt In?

I am asking the quaetion after the pruchase...pretty dumb on my part...ha!

Anyway, my Silverado Classic has the "jump seat" console, but I was able to buy the full length console (goes up to the dash board).

So, now I am wondering if it is a direct bolt in.... I know I have to take out the seats to remove othe old console and install the new one, but I am worried anout where the console meets the dash board....

Does anyone know if it just "mates up", or are there some mods I have to make...

Sure would appreciate any help on this...thanks in advance....

When i installed the full console on my 2006, i bought a new glove box panel becuase it is molded to fit perfectly with the console. otherwise you will have to cut a portion of your dash out to fit the console up flush to the dash. i no longer have the part # for the new glove box, but if you can find a VIN to a truck that has a stock console in it (color match the interior) you can get the part number form a local dealer or visit GM PArts direct..

Ouch...can I ask why the console did not fit the dash?

Was it because of the speaker that comes with the console??? I do no plan to use that anyway...

Or is it something worse??? thanks for the reply/

the dash panel that houses the glove box on your truck now extends to the middle of the dash. the console normally fits right inside the dash and allows you to connect the sig lighter and 12 aux outlet (as well as the heating pipes and any electrical for the radio if necessary. if you want a stock look and keep functionality of the 12v outlet u will need to either cut itno the dash to fit it seemlessly or order the part. i wish i had taken pictures when i installed mine, be easier to see than explain. (also 12 point deep socket work well in removing the seats!)

Thanks for the response...Now I have an idea of what I need to look at....super!!!

The glove box/panel that I used in my console installation was part # 15807855 (tan) list price of 316.15 and price paid of 161.30. With this part every thing is bolt up, even the wiring from you cig lighter and power plug.....plugs directly into your console without cutting and splicing. Very easy conversion and makes a great outcome. Good luck.
