Chrome Nerf Bars, Is One Kind Better Than Another?

Recommended Posts

So i have been debating this and I keep seeing very different prices. I know westin has a couple different brands and one boasts a lifetime warranty and the other only 3 years, Is there a difference between the two other than that? IS there anything wrong with the steps on ebay for under $200 shipped. I am looking for a 2007 NNbs crew cab.

Be careful because alot those cheap steps will rust and look like poo in a few months.

I prefer NASTA bars. They are come with stainless steel bolts and brackets also.

A friend of mine had aluminum nerf bars and the corroded through right where they were connected to the frame. I took about 5 years though.

Aluminum that is bolted tightly to steel will corrode unless there is an insulator between them. We used to use undercoating to isolate aluminum and steel from each other. 304 stainless bolts should be used as well.

Here's another vote for Nasta. I had them on my 04 Crew. Very high quality product...still looked great when I traded the truck.
