Stock radios back then didn't have any aux inputs. If you intend to keep the stock radio, the best bet would be to use the "FM Direct Adapter". It's basically a splitter that connects the truck antenna to the Sportster. you still have use a open FM station to receive signals but it will cut down on interference.

 

If you are considering a upgrade to the stock radio, there are lots of satellite-ready units that will work.
