2500 Dash Cluster

I have a 04 2500hd and the speedo and tach quit. Truck is out of warranty and dealer only wanted to replace it with new. any advise would be great.

they just extended the warranty on those clusters to 7yrs or 70000 miles, they should have sent you a letter, if not, check into it... if your out by mileage then you have no choice but to replace it... run you around $500...

I just got my letter this past week. My problem is the gas gauge goes from 1/4 full to empty in 25 miles. I'm getting a little over 400 miles to the tank and most of the time the gauge is where you'd expect for the mileage, but that last 1/4 it hangs up.

the level sensors on those trucks are not very accurate, it may go from 1/4 to empty just from cycling the key... my truck does the same thing, ill drive it till alitle less that 1/4, then park it and next time i start it, it will read empty, thats just they way it is, replacing the cluster or sendor may or may not help...
