I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 4 X 4. The dome light will not come on when either of the two side doors are opened. I can however, turn it on from the dashboard thumb wheel instrument dimmer. The light switches I would guess are mounted within the doors because they are not visible anywhere on the jams. Any clue to where the problem lies? I also checkede the fuses in the cab, all good.

thats weird. try taking out the bulb and get to the wires and check them with a volt meter... I didnt think that there was a dome override button on your truck is there?
