Truck Caps

Truck bed caps.

 

Those with bed caps, do all come standard with some sort of tinted glass? Is the front window of the cap same as sides and back?

 

The reason I ask is that CR Lawrence offers a sliding rear window for the 900 in:

 

CLEAR GLASS MANUAL

LIGHT TINT GLASS 55% MANUAL

DARK TINT SOLAR GLASS 28% MANUAL

 

I know what clear glass is, but the other two are tinted and I don't have a clue what the % means.

 

And if I get a tinted for the regular cab, then a tinted for the cap, and the rear window of cap is tinted, will this be too much tint looking out rearview mirror?

 

Note: No sliding rear window is offered by GM in the 2008 regular cab WT.

If I had a choice, I'd go with NO tint on the front window of the cap. With the tint on my backglass (in the truck) and the tint on the side windows of the cap, I can't see jack sh*t looking back that way.

 

I'm planning on eventually pulling the tint off of the backglass in the pickup so that I have better rearward visibility, I'm just dragging my feet because I want to go darker on the driver and passenger windows first.

I second that...with my cap on I now look through three different sets of glass when I look behind me. Two of them are tinted. Very dark during the day and pitch black at night
