Auto Start And Automatic Climate Control Question

how do you get the climate control to either heat the car or cool the car with the autostart system. 08 nbs chevrolet tahoe is the vehicle. automatic climate control.

Remote Vehicle Start

Your vehicle may have a remote starting feature. This feature allows you to start the engine from outside of the vehicle. It may also start up the vehicle's heating or air conditioning systems and rear window defogger. Normal operation of the system will return after the key is turned to the ON/RUN position.

If your vehicle has an automatic climate control system, the climate control system will default to a heating or cooling mode depending on the outside temperatures. If your vehicle does not have an automatic climate control system, the system will turn on at the setting the vehicle was set to when the vehicle was last turned off.

I.E. press the AUTO button, adjust the settings (Temp and Fan Speed) and then leave it alone, so everytime you turn the vehicle on (Key or Fob) the system should kick in and heat or cool (as necessary) the vehicle to the desired temperature.

I have auto climate control and the one time I tried to use the remote start just to see if it worked it was like 45 in the morning and it had the A/C blowing on max....dunno. Of course my A/C unit head control unit or whatever you call it has had to be replaced so maybe that was it.

Did you hit the AUTO button to set the settings?

Yeah. But my head unit had to be replaced shortly afterwards because the temp Up/down button stuck in the up posistion so maybe that's what happened and I just didn't notice it at 6am.

I use mine all the time. I pressed the auto button when I bought and I pretty much just leave it alone. All I do is adjust the temp and it adjusts the fan speed and which vents to blow the air out of. I like it!

See there you go, it does work, try out the new head controller unit and see it if works for you, if it does not, then ship it right back...

will the hvac display show anything. i set my desired temps but do not get a visual display. the ac/etc does not seem to do anything....?

I love this option. Everytime I leave for school in the morning, it's usually cold in the morning and I start it up 4-5 minutes before I leave that way it gets warmed up inside and the seats get warm too :). Also isn't it bad for the engine to run cold?

Even after you put the key in, turn the ignition on and the computer does all the instrument cluster startup post? After all that the climate controll should show its settings.

All mine displays on AUTO after start up is the temp. It shows for about a second were the air flow is at, such as vents or feet. The lights on the buttons are lit up for auto and fresh air. Really it doesn't show much on auto.

With mine, my hvac unit can be on or off and when i use the remote start the truck will always warm up/ cool down depending on the temp even if i have shut off the unit the night before.

Come to think of it that's all mine shows. But blueinterceptor sez he had no a/c action or display. I really don't use my remote start, it's been pretty nice around these parts (that'd be unlike it is in Jul-Aug when it's like a sunrise in the Chronicals of Riddick) and I usually crank-up and ease off pretty quick. I might have more experince with it if I was reactivating Silvia in a snow covered airport lot after a 5 day trip.

my display shows nothing when i use the remote start. when I use the hvac at other times it works fine. defrost and heated seats appear to be the only things comming on.
