Difference Between Molded And Contoured

Does anyone know what the difference is between these mudflaps? One is contoured and the other molded. Now the contoured can be placed on either the front or back and the molded have seperate front and rears also the contoured cost 1/3 of the price of molded any ideas? Also before anyone says anything about paint rubbing off i'm going to use 3M clear vinyl to protect it

Does not look like much difference to me, except maybe what they are made of (tougher material for molded)?

yeah I don't know either, though the contoured do look a little cheaper

Oh theres a big difference between the two,The contoured flaps are more like "flat" flaps,and they don't "wrap" around the side of your fenders or bedsides (You also wouldn't have to use any 3M vinyl to protect the paint from rubbing off)

The molded flaps are of course more rounded and wrap around the fenders and bedsides.

The molded look like they wrap around the corner of the fender a little bit, while the contoured look like they just sit flat against the back of the wheel well.

Alright Thanks guys I got both of them in my shopping cart now and now I can't decide which ones I like more. To me the molded look more quality but I like how the others lay flat, What do you guys recommend?

I have the contoured GMC ones and they look great. I didn't want something that wrapped around to the outside of the fender and paint. A little silicon bead behind them will keep the dirt out and keep the paint from rubbing off too.

 

Wish they didn't have a logo though.

 

EDIT: Oh yeah and the contoured ones are a little wider which worked better with my wide tires. My pic doesn't show them because it was taken before any of my mods. I got mine from GMaccessoriesstore.com.
