Cargo Light Only

I have an 07 NNBS Silverado and whenever I want to turn on the cargo light to see what's in the bed while going down the road I am blinded by the interior dome light that is illuminated by the same switch. This was not the case for 99 to 07 classic why would they have changed this? Is there anything that can be done???? Thanks

That is total BS man...

 

Only thing I can see is to find the wiring diagram, pull the wires for the cargo lamp and put it on a separate switch....sucks to have to do this with a brand new truck though...why change a good thing right.
