New Body Style 2500hd Noisy Squeaky Interior

I just picked up my new body style 07 crew cab 2500HD 4x4 last week and so far I love it except the interior plastic squeaks and rattles and just seems to make alot of noise when driving, mainly when on rough roads or turning sharply at low speeds. I have an 05 tahoe that does not make a sound. Just wondering if this normal?

No! The Tahoe should be much noisier.

I just got home from going to dinner and I used the wrong words to describe the noise, it is more of a creeking sound made at slow speeds. And it comes from all directions not just one spot and it's not very loud just kinda anoying. Is sounds like the body is flexing and the interior materials move with it. I think I can live with it if it's normal. My wife says im being to picky, but maybe I notice it because the interior is so quiet.

I know what you are talking about. I think it is the cab bushings making the noise. Hopefully it will go away after they "break-in" a little bit. It doesn't bother me, I just keep the radio at a low volume.

Mine makes the noises you describe. I've got about 13,000 miles on the truck now and don't seem to notice it as much. Either it's subsided or I've just gotten used to it. But when I nail the gas and it doesn't downshift which makes the engine howl (bellow) until the rpms come up, my dash rattles from the harmonics of the intake noise.

Mine makes some of the same minor noises. Nothing I would consider a rattle, just some body flex noises. I think it is because these trucks are so much queiter than the last body style that we notice stuff that we might not have heard in them.

Mine creaks also on the passengerside when taking off but is going away as its not as loud as it was, 4500 miles. These trucks are so tightly built and think it takes some time to settle in.

Mine creaked - found the issue. When GM put these together, they put a rather hard weatherstripping around some parts of the doors. Since the body panels are sooo much tighter than the last bodies, we've got noise. If you want to get rid of it, take some tire wet, put it on a rag, and wipe down the seals around ALL of the doors. Make sure to pull on the seals, get the tire wet (or teflon based spray) in every crack. Close the door, no more squeek. Also, I've heard vasaline works better, but I didn't like the idea of getting it on me everytime I got in the truck. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the good information. I will be trying the tire dressing trick and see how that works. It's just makes me feel better knowing that my truck appears to be normal. And I do have to say like one of the earlier posts, now that I've got almost 1k on my truck the small noises do seem to be going away. So a little tire dressing on the door seals and hopefully all is well. Thanks

I've got close to 1,000 miles on my 6.0 2500 HD and have noticed the slight creaking as well. Mostly heard it going slowly up in a parking garage. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

My squeak is coming from the left front corner of the dash, near the A-pillar. Lightly putting my fingers on the dash in the right spot makes it whisper quiet.

Just noticed the right side sounds like it is squeaking in the same place.

I've got 5K on my '07 extended cab 2500HD. Same complaint. I also had the same issue on my 2004 Duramax. GM (in the owner's manual under "care") recommends keeping the door seals lubed with a silicone based grease. I wet mine down with silicone spray, allow it to soak in, and wipe off the excess. It also helps to keep the contacting surfaces of the doors clean and free of dirt. Also, wipe down the truck body at the roof between the upper door seal and the cab. A lot of stuff gets caught between that seal and the body, resulting in creaking.

Keeping up with all these things provides a temporary fix for a thousand miles or so. I had hoped that the new body design would have addressed the issue, but there is still simply too much flex in the design.
