Ray I went with the Infinity's listed here and they were $100. I like them so far, they sound better than the the factory and you can control the db output on them by 3 with a push button on the speaker. The 3-way Kappa's I see on Crutchfield are about $169.99, with the 2-way Kappa's being $129.99. With the 3-ways I would think that you would want to amp them, if you're not going to do that then there is really no need for them. Stick either with the 2-ways (Kappa's or the one in my post). Speaking of Kappa's, I almost bought some 4x6 Kappa's ($129.99) for the rear but went with last years model instead (Infitiy).
firecombs Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 is no one using component speakers and utilizing the factory column speaker location?
Rosedog Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 is no one using component speakers and utilizing the factory column speaker location? Is that the 2-part speaker system? Does the factory column speaker location have pre-installed wiring?

Does the factory column speaker location have pre-installed wiring? column? you mean the tweeter location in pod panel? i would say yes if there is an existing speaker/tweeter. the component series from infinity i was speaking about are on sale at crutchfield; like regular 159; on sale for 99$; they are the reference series; which is a step below the "kappa" series. both are infinity brand. the 2 way like you spoke of is a great set too; as i had a set in 98 chevy. i am going to try the seperate infinity's this time.
