Okay....

I need to do the relearn on the TPMS......

Before I start ---- should I fill all 4 tires with an extra 10-12 psi of air..... Then begin the relearn procedure.... you know --- turn on the ignition...let air out for 10-15 secs...etc

no, not at all. you could put in an extra 2 psi's if you want or do the relearn, or you do the relearn then recheck pressure and reinflate. as long as your tires are inflated to the proper psi (that computer thinks your tires should be at) you will be fine.

when i did mine i just put enuff pressure on the stem to let alil air out and help it preety steadily for the 5-20 seconds it needed. barely lost much psi doing it that way.

let me save some aggrivation and a long line of blog postings - take it to the dealer - they will reflash it under warrenty ..

They will reflash it under warranty - but turn around and charge you to relearn the sensor posiston while your there.

I've done mine twice now. Had some trouble the first time, then reread the instructions in the manual and followed them exactly. Worked like a charm.

Check your manual - mine says to only add or let out air for five seconds. That seemed to be the key for me. Don't keep letting out air until you hear the horn. Just do it for five seconds, maximum, then wait for the horn.

I didn't add any extra air first, but I did go to the gas station and do the procedure there. Next to the air hose, just in case.

I do mine every time I have the tires rotated. On mine, it starts with the drivers side front.. then passenger side front... passenger side rear... then driver side rear.

I have a 12V air compressor that plugs in to the lighter.

After entering the RELEARN .... slowly let air out for a few seconds. You don't have to let air out FAST. It is the pressure drop in the tire X a few seconds elapsed time that send a new signal to the computer. The horn will beep... move to the next tire... repeat as need for all four.

Took me a couple of times to get it down pat. Now it is pretty routine.
