im assuming that it has auto a/c? thats the system that that problem occures most often... if it does have auto a/c then its probably you blower resistor, they are fancy reisters that are not really a resistor, its like a little module that controls the motor... but anyways heres a bulletin for it...

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described in the PI.

SERVICE VME

Some customers may comment that their 2003 Full-Size Pickup / Utility A/C blower motor continues to run even when the key is removed from the ignition. The root cause is an internal failure within Linear Power Module ( LPM ) or also known as the Blower Motor Control Processor. The supplier has corrected their internal soldering process and effective with shipments after March 3, 2003, all LPMs should be good. The service fix is to replace the LPM (P/N 52495874).

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.

This happened to me just last week. I posted 2 seperate threads and unfortunately, no responses.

It cost be $400 to have it fixed as the dealership.....in my 2002, it was the HVAC control module.

Same symptons as you....turn off the truck and walk away, the hvac fan would stay on.

I also lost all control of the hvac, couldn't adjust anything.
