Best Leveling Kit?

Hi all you experts, I want to level or close to level my truck who makes the best kit out there and please reply with installation info- time, difficulty, quality of parts etc. Pics would help also.

I have the Rough Country 1.5" leveling kit,Took me about about an hour-and-a-half to install it.

It goes on the bottom on the strut/shock assembly (between the shock and lower control arm)

Cost me about 70 bucks and I ordered it through there website.

Don't forget to get an alignment when your done as the wheels will be toed in a-little.

Cognito has a good kit. They provide the option of getting new upper A-arms and Bilstein shocks. Keeps the ride very nice.

I have had both the Ready lift 66-3080 top mount strut space kit and the Rough country 2" spacer kit

 

Ready lift - you don’t have to cut the stock strut studs to install - after installed - front is approx 3/8" lower than the rear - $225 ish

 

Rough country - basically a spacer between the lower shock mount and lower A arm with new hardware - it gave me a true level - $70 ish

 

Do a search on Ready lift - I have commented on this in the past..

 

I'd go with the rough country - simple easy cheap design

+1 for the Rough Country 2" Leveling Kit. Just had it installed on my truck, looks great and I can't notice a difference in ride quality.

Thinking about giving it a shot but not the best with working on cars, beyond the basic oil changes. The instructions are on RC's website and they look fairly easy. I've read some posts saying it's a lot easier with 2 people though.

You'll definitely want a buddy helping you install it, plus every single tool listed on the installation manual, (perhaps even a large, long crow bar as well). Installation should take no more than 2 hours if you're somewhat familiar with front suspension components' names.

I work at a Chevy dealership. I had one of the shop guys install it ($80 bucks and a free alignment)

I have the Daystar 2" coil spacers in my truck, they are good so far.

I just installed the Skyjacker leveling kit. IMO I think the leveling kit is better because it is aluminum. (I hear the polyurethane ones squash after while) Also I do not like the Rough Country leveling kits because they mount on the bottom of the strut. It does not seem as strong of a mounting place on the bottom of the strut because all you have is two long small diameter bolts holding it together. On the top of the strut it is held by 3 large diameter bolts and sandwiched between the struts and the struts mounts. It just seems like a stronger set up IMO.

With the kits mentioned here...do you leave the keys alone? Or do they still get cranked?

 

I have them cranked right now but still isn't level & the ride sucks...I would love to find a kit that would level it, allow me to put the bars back to stock & allow me to once again have a decent ride again!

The kits discussed here are for the 2007-2008 GMT900 trucks which do not have torsion bars.

 

I will finish my Rough Country leveling kit install today. Got one side done last night but it takes me a lot longer than normal because I'm fat, out of shape and have a really bad back.
