This post wiil only concern hose of us who live in the frozen north. 0.F/-18.C is to cold not to be plugged in.

Any one figure out how to cheat the temp sensor on the cord end or the maf so that when you cut the end off of the cord it won't throw a cel cuz the maf & end coolant temps don't match?

This was discussed ad nauseum a year or two ago on this forum but no fix was ever mentioned. The only way to do it that I've found is to cut off the factory tumor plug, replace it with a regular plug and go for it. Yes, you will get a CEL anytime it isn't under zero degrees and you're using the block heater, but the light will go out after so many start cycles. This was another one of the EPA/GM "improvements" that is useless for those of us who live in northern cold weather climates. If you do a search on block heater, you should find it as it was a very lengthy posting from several of us in cold climates.
