As far as the front one goes... pull it off and paint it. Make sure to use a good quailty rattle can like Duplicolor. Prep is everything here. Scuff it with a scotch pad and then scuff it again. Spray it in several slightly wet coats. Once it dries any small imperfections can be polished out and it will look great and last as long as the truck does.

My suggestion for the rear is to remove it and donate it to your local trash collector.

In answer to your ACTUAL question... I have not seen any A/M colored bowties... Only chrome / billet stuff.

You could remove the bowties carefully, and tape over them, decently heavy, and apply a light coating of spray paint to get the black color to show and see how it will look on your truck. If it looks bad, remove the tape and no harm done.

i painted mine first. I didn t like the finish but that could have been fixed. I then decided i didn tlike the way the black looked. (Stood out too much). Then installed the chrome a loved it.

Anything is better than the original gold color. cwrivera what color is your truck? If you plan on keeping the chrome grille( I assume your truck has the chrome grille unless it's a work truck), I would say either go with the billet emblem like cerbomark has (that looks tight), or color match it to your trucks color. I'm with zembonez..ditch the rear emblem. It just doesn't look good no mater what color it is. The latch on the tailgate just fights with the tailgate bowtie.

If you paint it, I would def recommend sanding it down well with sandpaper, maybe 120 grit. Use Dupli-color adhesion promoter (it's to help paint/primer stick to plastic), then hit it with a few light coats of Dupli-color primer, then a few light wet coats of Dupli-color in your matching base color, then finally with some light coats followed by one wet coat of clear coat. Once eveything dries, you could wet sand any imperfections/orange peel, then hit it with some soft rubbing compound, then wax/polish.

Ok, so what's the purpose of the hole in the front bumper on the heavier duty models?

You can find vinyl overlays on ebay, but painting the OEM one is a much better look, and more perminant.
