Tranny Problem

1995 K1500 Sub, 5.7 with the 4l60E tranny, 50K miles on a rebuild.

 

This morning I'm driving along the the tach pegs , clearly indicating the tranny is no longer doing anything right. I let up on the gas and the TC locks and away I go not to happen again until tonight. Now (tonight) I drive a 1 mile and it starts slipping, I stop, shut down and restart and it works fine for a mile or so then it does it again. Again I shut down and restart and it works fine....for a mile or so. The fluid is pink, smells normal and is at the right level. No foam, no leaks, AND the cruise doesn't work. Different topic?

I reseated the comp and no change.

Bits and pieces of my formally good tranny are now in the pan and filter...... A moment of silence please.......

 

it lived a short (50K miles) but proud life.... many-a-rv trips....

 

I'm going to miss it's firm shifts, unfaultering 1st to second to third to OD transfer of power....

 

 

I'm going to go and grieve...
