Universal Home Remote

I am unable to program the Universal Home Remote for our 2007 Sierra 1500. I've been to the dealership service manager & they are unable to program one of the buttons/switches for one of remotes that we want to use. However, another of the three buttons/switches does work when we push to activate. Therefore the system in the truck appears to be working correctly.

 

Does anyone know how to program the home Remote, button/switch, when it fails to do so? I've tried to program the Home Remote, by opening the handheld remote, as described in the vehicle owners manual, but the handheld remote doesn't allow assigning a code to the handheld remote.

Are you sure your garage door supports HomeLink ? When I purchased my curent vechicle in 2002, the Stanley garage door opener I have didn't support HomeLink (and it was purchased in 2000).

I called HomeLink and they were kind enough to send me an unit that I attached to the garage door opener and then used the remote that came it the unit to program the HomeLink in the truck.

Not sure if that's your issue, but I'd thought I would share my experience.

Thank you for your quick response. Actually my garage door does open with the vehicle's Home Remote button/switch. My problem is getting into my community through their remote actuated gate system. But thanks again for your suggestion.
