Cigarette Lighter

Hey guys...I gotta 94' Rado and my lighter is starting to not work. I feel like the wires just need to be re-soldered. The problem is I can't figure out how to get em out.

I don't smoke, but I have a portable air pump that uses it for power. Anyone know how to get that thing out? I guess the whole ashtray has to come out?

I dont recall if it is the same as my '98, but I had to remove a bit of the dash to get to the mounting screws.

omg..yea...if thats the case then its not happening hah. :flag: Thanks man.

Above may be correct.

I have had to replace cig. lighter in some vehicles and it can be somewhat difficult.

Doesn't anyone have a Chilton's or Haynes handy?

Hmm . . . I just looked at my Haynes 1988-1993. No cigarette lighter mentioned. Interesting, I can read in this book how to rebuild the transmission but not how to replace a broken cigarette lighter.

Granted there are a few that might attempt to rebuild their transmission, but I think there would be many more that probably would fix a broken cigarette lighter. Not in Haynes book that I could find.

'94 Had a different dash configuration, so my '88-'93 book won't help. :flag:

My '88-'98 Haynes has a piss-poor body section. Door panel removal is the only detailed procedure. :flag:

Hmm would the Chilton's help? It could be worth my money to pick one up. What about a shop manual? I know there like a hundred bucks or so, but I'd like to replace my weather stripping and back speakers and I'm not sure how to start..could be worth the money?
