Anyone Use Lowering Blocks On A Nbs?

Id like to lower the rear just an inch or so and was wondering if the "lowering blocks" ive seen in truck mags would work on a NBS 2wd. I would prefer to not deal with lowering shackles. I really only want to go down an inch does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. Im very glad I got this truck.

they won't work ...

well how the rear suspension is setup ... the axle is beneath the leaf spring .. so putting a block in there would raise it ...

so you either have to go with the shackle

or remove the 1" block that is in there from factory

or go with after market leaf spring

or go with a 'flip kit' that relocates the rear end to sit on top of the leaf spring

Yip...

Blocks equal lift on a full sized truck. Anything between the rear axle and spring lifts the truck. Shackles are much easier to install anyway and it is a more stable and safe modification than separating the spring from the axle.

if that is the case, can that be rectified with a sway bar added on? (At least for the handling portion)

The sway bar will help your cornering but axle twist occurs during acceleration and braking.

A very good pair of rear shocks help the axle twist; plus you should notice that the shocks are located on opposite sides (one facing front and one facing back) to compensate for the torque already!

I got some 2” drop shackles for mine and put them in in about an hour or so. They only cost 50-100 and it was not that hard to do..
