Which Lift Keeps Front/rear Wheels The Same Width?

So, which lifts keep the correct widths of the wheels so that they are the same front and back? I do not want to get a kit that will cause my front wheels to stick out wider than the rears.

Mine is the 6" Procomp and front is only about 1 1/2" wider then the rear. But you can get spacers to make up for the difference from ebay cheap.

I believe any lifted spindles are going to make the front a little wider because it is required for everything to clear the backside of the wheel when you relocate the bearing mounting surface. I had a Fabtech 3 inch lift on my 01 and the fronts were further out than stock but not anything really noticeable.

Pro comp 6" Kit is the one I have. Not the knuckle kit. They make 2 different 6" kit's I also thonk the rough country drop kit and cst are the same or close. Any kit that has spacers for the cv joints widen the track.

Any kit that does not use after market knuckles. They are full drop only. CST, Procomp, and Rancho just to name a few.

What is the differencwe in drops? I don't really know what options there are for suspension kits. Please educate.

Not much difference in any of the drop kits. Superlift makes an old kit that has way too many pieces. Most the others are near identical. Skid plates and optional shock are the big difference. Take a look at this link for a little more info. And price. ifs lift comparison

If you get a 6" full drop it drops the transfer case the full 6". If you get a 6" knuckle lift it drops the transfer case any where from 3 -5 inches. Full drop equals flatter cv shaft angles less wear and tear. Knuckle lift equals steeper cv shaft angles and wears quicker. The only lift that uses the best of both worlds is the Cognito. Knuckle kits keep the steering geometry at factory.

Also, be sure to do your research on backspacing as that can also affect how far out they stick. And of course, 8 inch widths will stick out less than 10 inch.

grayghst, thanks. i checked out the cognito www and dont quite understand their packages. i was looking at the 7"-9" lift, but it says, "front lift suspension?" do i have to add a rear suspension option as well on top of the $1800? thanks again...

Yes, although Cognito makes great kits, they are pricey. Once you select their front kit, you will have rear options. They usually offer new real leaf packs and shocks.
