In Your Opinion...

I have a 1999 GMC Sierra Classic ext cab Z71. Why I am asking this question is because I have a list that is a country mile long of upgrades that I would like to do to my truck. These upgrades include performance, suspension, interior, exterior, electrical.......and so on.....you know just the normal stuff that all of us want to do. I am a full time college student and due to time constraints I can not always work a lot, this makes my income small or at sometimes nothing. This brings me to my question.....

What upgrades do you think will give me the best bang for my buck?

I would personally go for intake, or exhaust. But the amount of money you pay for the exhaust you can buy a programmer that can save you couple mpgs.

What is most important to you? Is it how it sounds, how it looks, how it handles, how it performs?

First of all thank yall for the responses. Well a couple of the things I have thought about doing first are.....tinting the windows ( the guy that had it before me put a slight tint on them but not a good one ), and of course headers and dualing it out ( I just dont have enough money right now for that ), another thing is I am going to get all the trim inside custom painted ( a buddy of mine will do it for me for free as long as I pay for the paint ), I definately want a small lift and some bigger tires but the tires that are on there are good tires so I am not going to replace them untill they need it, I have euro taillights but I took them off ( my friend that will paint my interior trim figured out how to do a home made smoke job so I had him do that to my stocks ), I want/need a spray in bedliner but that is out of the price range for right now, my buddy that has a 95 sierra just totalled his truck and has a bunch of parts I can get off him for cheap like.....glass APC headlight assemplies, clear third breaklight, and a nice set of carbon fiber euro tail lights. I am still at a loss for what to do first. I think I need to go ahead and get the stuff off his truck because he is parting it out and I do not want to miss out on the really nice parts because I wanted to too long to get them. Once again thanks for your replies and more are definately appreciated.

whatever you can get for cheap or free, go with first and then work your way up......

I think that is what I am going to do. I will probably just make a list of all the upgrades I want and then just start with all the cheap ones and and when I run out of those start with some more costly ones. Thanks again.

remember sometimes less is more... to much crap on a truck makes it look like crap. for example i have a 2004 Z71 white. here are the mods" 285 BFG al terrain K/O , 15% windows, bed liner, gps navigation unit, black powdercoated toolbox, black powdercoated brush guard.and i think thats it. but anyway my point is. if i added much more to my truck i would ruin it. as far as performance stuff go for it but don't bolt-on the entire local parts store. a clean truck is a good truck. I have some examples i will post later if i get a chance.

Best cheap aftermarket upgrade .... modding my factory intake (drilling holes all over it) and adding a K&N filter. Total cost was the the filter. I have the same performance, better torque, better sound than before as the previous K&N kit I had on my truck.

I'd say a hot babe in the passenger seat would be my first mod. Probably be a while before you could afford more mods but WTF?
