Sagging Seat!

Welp for some time now when I get out my truck iv been noticeing the cloth on the drivers back part of the seat sagging and wrinkleing.... I'm not a big guy, 6`1 180 lbs, so I don't think that is the cause of the problem. I do have the seat stlighty leaned back from a 90 degree angle, but wouldent think just regular use would cause this.so my question to yall is, one has anyone else noticed this or are you seats still tight as if u just got it. and two is it normal or is there a chance of some kind of factory defect? (free new seat) :)truck is not old at all, 5500 miles.any input would help. and if u work at a dealership how would u handle this is I brought it in?thanks.

It could be simple defect in the seat, or else the GM "redesigned" the seats to save weight. It would probably help if the driver's weight was under 150 lbs. Takeb it to the dealer and ask them to replace the seat under warranty.

what if there is "preventable" damage on the bottom part of the seat, ( small cigarette burn ) would they just replace the back portion ?

I doubt they can replace just one part of the seat. It most likely comes together as a unit.

The seat does not come as a unit we would just be replacing the back cover and anything under it that may be causing the problem. Do you have pics?

I did not realize that dealerships would actually do upholstery work by replacing cushions and covers. He obviously needs better quality work than was initially done on the seat.

Some do some don't. I do now, the last place I was at sent it out to an trim shop.

Just FYI, my 2007.5 nbs 2500HD just had the drivers seat bottom cushion and cover replaced due to a defective bottom cushion. I have felt the seat was horrible from day 1, wife drives a 2006 crew and we have an easy comparison available. I have had significant interior problems with this truck to say the least. My truck is an early build (4/2007) and the new bottom is nothing like the original. I actually am quite pleased with seat now, comfort and support. Interesting thing is, I felt the back was also poor, but since the bottom cushion actually suports me and does not crush, the lumbar stays in correct relationship to my back. Who woulda thought? This is probably my twentieth new vehicle, honestly, my biggest dissapointment as well. I will continue to work with my dealer to get it corrected, and have not given up hope. I must say though..... the Duramax and Allison are wonderful, and a pleasure to drive.
