Replacement Speakers

I'm going to replace my stock speakers in my 00 sierra. I have a kenwood excelon deck in there that has 45x4 W. Which speakers would have the best sound with my deck? I don't want anything too fancy, I want to spend under $200.

I put some higher end pioneers in there, man that was a mistake the don't sound any better than my stockers! Guess I'm going to put some subs and a amp in there to get full potential out of my investment. Here goes another $500!

Generally, the aftermarket stereo is what makes the biggest improvement in sound. What type of speakers did you get? Were they coaxial or just plain one-speaker speakers (if that makes any sense)?

I put Infinity Kappa 6 1/2" 3 ways in my doors and the sound is awesome.Next step is a pair of Kappa 4x6 plates for the rears.Check Ebay for great prices.

They are 3-way speakers. They have little tweaters in them. The mids and highs sound better but the bass suffered, and I didn't have much bass to start with.

I put Polk Audio's that I had in the front and the rear of my regular cab truck and I lost all my bass too. First I am going to put in my Sony head unit that I had from my Jeep and see if that has enough power to at least drive these speakers. If not, I'll get an amp and sub. I don't need my truck rockin and shakin, but I want decent sound out if it. Just the head unit and the speakers with a cheap small sub that was in the Jeep was enough but I suspect I will need an amp and sub in the truck. It will be a couple fo weeks before I get to this, but be happy to let you know how it works out when done.

The size of the mounting holes for the stock speakers will not fit a large enough speaker that will give you good bass. A few people have cut out some of the rear door and installed some 6X9's to get a little more bass sound. Or you could just go ahead and install a sub or two.

your not gunna get the kinda bass your wanting from anything less than a 6x9, and even then you need to power it by an amp to get anything out of it. replacement speakers are mainly going to add clarity to your high's without an amp and clarity to highs and mid's with an amp. go for a small cheap sub with a 150-200w amp if your lookin to add a little cost concious low end
