Exaust System For Nbs Silverado 5.3

Recommended Posts

Greetings all,

I have a 2007 Texas Edition Silverado with the 5.3L. I am looking at changing out the exhaust system and would like to get some opinions on the right system for the truck. I want a good throaty sound, but not loud an annoying. I had a '98 'rado with a set of flowmasters that was a nice setup for the truck, but not sure what works best with this new truck.

Thanks in advance, Mike

as far as best performance im not sure.... but i just got a magnaflow cat back (single out stock location) and i like it... good sound on accel, and still quiet when at freeway speed.

Sweet ..... I am trying to determine if I want to show the exhaust out the back or side or just keep them out of sight. Did you run duals out the back or XXXX

Thanks, Mike

I have basically the same Magnaflow on my '06, and second the recommendation.

Thanks .... Great looking truck. I am looking at a set of 22's for mine as well. Looking at some liquidmetal wingmans. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findWheel...8&tc=LIQWIN

what size wheels 22X8/9?? and tires do you have as I want to make sure mine do not stick outside the wheel wells. I had a ram 1500 hemi with 20x10s and they hung outside the wheel well and I did not like that at all.

Yeah, the whole truck is 33% larger.

The "Texas Edition" package includes the 5.3L, 20" wheels, Z85 suspension, Z82 trailering equipment, G80 rear locker and some emblems. You can actually get a Texas Edition in Oklahamo, Louisiana and Texas. I think you can get them in parts of some of the other neighboring states, as well.

I see Texas Editions everywhere. But, of course I would... I'm in Texas.

I've been checking out the Gibson Super Truck for mine. Its the one that exits before the rear passenger tire, anyone have anything to say about it?

My Bro-in-law had it on his F150 and what I remember it was loud as hell during accelleration & droned when in overdrive. Wasn't all that impressed. I am going w/Magnaflow single in & out and add a tip like one member did. I am sure it looks the same as if you bought it in the kit.
