Nbs Mirror Covers

Is there a reason why I can find Black mirror cover for a NBS because I have been to several GM accessory sites with no joy. I was going to buy a set of white and have them painted by a professional.

 

Is there any vendors that you all know of ??

 

I did find a set on E-bay but they went through the roof on the price...

Wish I could find one too....I haven't had any luck either. Guess I'll get used to the plastic mirror look. I have some Putco chrome mirror covers but can't bring myself to put them on. Think it gives the truck a bit too much chrome.

Why not paint the Putco's?

 

Remember the early GMT400's? My 89 had REAL stainless steel mirror housings. d**n I miss those!!!

I had those on my '91 and loved 'em. They were shining like new (alright, almost like new) when I sold it at 240,000 miles.

interesting idea....would need to do some research on how to paint chrome. Surely there are some threads here....I may give it a shot. I'm a perfectionist though, so might be better left to a paint shop.

What color are your mirrors now?

GM doesnt offer them in Victory Red either. I purchased the ready to paint covers and had a local body shop spray them along with my locking tail gate handle for $30.

I don't know why GM does that crap. My 05 was Victory Red and I could get painted factory flares almost any color BUT red. I had to buy another color and have them painted. Seems like they would offer their stuff in the colors that they sell their trucks in...

Ordered a set of black painted mirror caps for my '07 NBS Sierra from jpcustoms.com. Paid $105 + shipping. Came out to about $125 total. Dealer wanted $65 for the paintable caps, plus $80 to paint.

I had my entire mirrors smoothed and painted black, along with my tailgate handle/bezel.

Would the mirror covers for the Tahoe even fit the Silverado? They sure don't look the same, the Silverado is 2 pieces. Or maybe these are tape-ons?
