Gmt900 Factory Flares, Like Or Dislike?

Several of you have mentioned how you dislike the factory flares on the GMT900's so I thought I would shop them off and post both pics to see what everyone thought.

At first I wasn't sure about them but I've decided they give the truck a tougher look. Your pics cinch it for me - definately with!

Looks way better without. The design just doesn't flow right with the flares, as it looks bloated.

I like them without, The GMC's have a smoother look than the chevys but neither should have that design. But, they are a huge improvement over the plastic add on crap they stuck on the 800's.

To me, the flares help make the NBS trucks stand-out more as being a new bodystyle. I like 'em better with...

I think that there is nothing left to design.

 

My 1990 Chevrolet 1500 was probably the best generation design for GM. Everything else is fluff.

 

Fender flares on GMT900 are just a throw back to the 30's, 40's, and 50's. What is old is new.

 

Like Jerry's waitress girlfriend stated about Seinfeld's act: Just a bunch of fluff!

I like them, it gives the truck a little character.

I say with, I think the bed looks a little better without the flares, but the front looks a lot worse without them.

tough to say, especially since I have a GMT-800

I think they put the flare in for structural support AND styling....a flat piece of metal doesn't have the strength to reduce flex like one with the flare made into it. Seeing as how much the new trucks bend when you lean on it I can't imagine if they took it out - they'd have to up the gauge of the metal (more weight).

Without...and while you're at it, get rid of the side mouldings on the doors as well.

Well, my front flare has a dent in it, so I do wish they were easily replaceable haha...But I like the look of flares on a truck, gives it that tough look.

I like them with the flares...especially the back because it kinda looks like a stepside.
