No Gas Light?

Just noticed my gas light is not working. The DIC never even dinged or did anything to let me know either. Would the diablo have an effect on this or maybe my escalade cluster?

I don't see the predator doing anything to this. I have the U7194 93 Octane tune, and my gas light and DIC warning works fine, although I seldomly let it get down that low because I am the "nervous" type to begin with.... :D

When you push back the stock tune, does it all work? I would try that to rule out the predator, but I am 99% sure that the predator will not be the culprit...

Your post implies that you switched insturment clusters... if this is true, my $0.05 tells me that it is in the conversion somewhere...... wiring, non-compatibility, porrly connected connector ???????

Not sure. I would start looking there first.

It is supposed to be 100% compatible. I have put like 1200miles on the new cluster and this is the first time I have ran it low enough for the light to come on. I done a fill up so I will have to wait a little bit to see what it does again after I play with the predator.

I emailed the people I bought the cluster from and they wanted to help me. They gave me a prepaid overnight label. Here is the response.

Josh,

I got a call from the GM Service Center this morning and they received your unit. They tested the unit and it tested perfectly. The technician verified that the low fuel light came on exactly as the pointer needle was entering the low fuel red zone. Additionally, the low fuel warning came on in the DIC. They tested all other functions and gauges in the cluster and found the cluster to be working normally and within Delphi spec. They sent me some pictures of which I will forward as well.

They are overnighting the unit back to you as no trouble found NTF. Pics to follow shortly.

Regards,

ESI

I actually drove it into the red... still no light. Any ideas?

maybe it is not low enough, I know my stock does not come on until my needle is on or to the left of the red (about 1.5 gallons left in the tank). then the light comes on and the Driver Information Center says Low Fuel and the door chimes

My stock one came on just as it got next to the red. I drove the truck just past the red and no light.

I got it back... put it in... I was determined to see if it works so I carried some gas with me and just drove till it came on. It actually came on just past the red. They said it was calibrated correctly....

I had an 02' Silverado. It did the same thing, i put the escalade cluster in and it would never say low fuel until the needle was almost on the seat peg. The original cluster would come on just as it hit red. When i called they told me its just the way it was calibrated. Sucks but i never went any further with it and then ended up selling the truck.
