It Depends on the car wash.. If they have Mitters (Curtain that drags over the top of the vehicle) then you will be ok.. If they have a roll over brush id steer clear..

I ran my Tahoe through with a Lund bugshield and never had a problem. I agree with ridnlow though, it probably depends on the carwash. I'm sure some could do damage.

Another reason I went with the 3M ClearBra on the new ride.

got a avs shield out front and I go through the 'laser wash' (sprays water, no physical contact with the truck) and I come out fine....dont know about the brush/physical type but dont sound too good...

Arent those roller/brush type bad for your paint? I also go through the lazer ones, with a stampede hood deflector, and have had no problems.

I used to work at a car wash for several years, and we used to send bug shields through all the time. I can't remember a specific incidence where one was damaged. However, obviously if it should get damaged, they aren't going to take any liability for it. My opinion is that if it breaks the bug shield, then it's too rough for the rest of the vehicle anyway. I always hand-wash mine though.

I worked at a Car Wash for 2 years and we averaged about 25-30 thousand cars a month.. We probably broke a handful of bug shields the whole time i was there.. This was a 125 Ft full contact wash, with brushes mitters, etc.. If the wash is setup properly you should have no problem.. Also I ran my truck through ours twice a week for two years and never broke my bug shield..

Why would I lie about something so trivial?? You get real.. It was an express wash.. Our biggest day was over 1400 cars in a 12 hour period.. Biggest hour that day was 133 cars.. In March of last year one weekend we did 900 Friday, 1400 Saturday and 1100 on Sunday.. There is one in New Orleans that averages 150+ cars a hour each day..

I hope this wasnt directed at me ?? scroll up and read my posts, I am the guy that was marveling at the math and thinking I should build a carwash with a turnaround like that...I am real
