08 Suburban Center Console

I'm trying to customize my electonics stuff (ipod, mp3, DC-AC converter) and would like to run a couple of extra wires into the center console on my 08 Suburban. I know the trim ring around the nav screen/AC controls/push buttons is pressed on with clips and not too difficult to get off. I thought this would be the same but after some gentle but firm tugs, I couldn't get it to budge. Can anyone tell me if it's pressed on or screwed on or glued on? This would make access to the interior MUCH easier!

 

Also, do you know how the console is mounted to the truck? I'm trying to gain easy access to the interior to run the wires, then put everything back.

This trim simply has clips. They are very tight though. You will need a flat bladed tool and some careful pressure. Just make sure you are careful these are a tight fit and the trim can be brittle.
