if you order this configuration with the 6.0L and the tow package will it come with drum or disc rear brakes?

 

I don't find the breakdown of when they go from drum to disc....and since I tow stuff I really want the rear discs.

I think its the MAX trailering pkg that gets you the rear disc. Not sure if just adding the 6.0 will do it.

Drum, the rear discs are only available when you get the 6.0 and Stabilitrak. Stabilitrak is not available on an extended cab short box, only on the extended cab standard box or it is standard on the crew cab short box.

4 wheel disc brakes are required on Stabilitrak and the non Stabilitrak vehicles have 3 channel brake systems and Stabilitrak requires 4 channel to control all four wheels.

Then why do 5.3 equipped trucks with Stabilirak have rear drums?

 

All 6.0 equipped trucks (with or without NHT Max pkg) WITH Stabilitrak will have 4 wheel disc brakes. All others have rear drums.

yeah he is right my dads 5.3 texas edtion has rear drums and stabitrack and a tow package
