Taurus For Concealed Carry

Ok all my fellow pistoleers I've got a question! After carrying my 1911 Gov't model around for a while, I'm looking to get a more compact gun for carry. I'd been gassing for a Para Carry C6.45 but can't justify the skyhigh price. I also like the Springfield XD and since it's a polymer gun, it's way lighter than my 1911 but not as compact as I'd like. I ran across a Taurus Millennium Pro 145 at a gun show and really liked the size and weight and though I've heard of Taurus I confess I'm not that familiar with them. I remember reading somewhere, about 10 years ago that some of the Taurus auto models were having problems with cracks developing in the frame from the slide impact so I sort of dismissed them altogether. Anybody have any experience with the Millinneum Pro 145 and Taurus in general?

no experience with the Taurus, never been a big fan. My little Kimber Ultra Carry II has been the light cary of choice when I can't carry my custom Commander. But I just bought a sweet stainless Walther PPK/S and stuffed full of +P loads for the ultimate in light carry...not as venerable as my beloved .45 ACP but very comfortable to carry and dead accurate at short distance. The price on these is very attractive now, they are a S&W product now.

Supposed to pretty awesome.

My father has had a .38 revolver for about 20 years. It has been a solid gun, probably not high on the concealed list of carrys though. I had not heard anything negative about any of their models.

Just my .02...........

i was told to stay away from the older models - but nowadays they have a better reputation for quality

From what I've heard, the recent Taurus's are good guns, and they come with a lifetime warranty. I almost bought one, but wound up getting my Ruger .357 instead.

I bought a Taurus .22 revolver a few years ago and it has become my favorite. It's reliable and very accurate. The finish is nice, too. I've always been a S&W fan but would not hesitate to buy another Taurus. They have become a good brand. Every brand has their winners and losers, though, so it's a good idea to look for info on the specific model you are interested in.

Man, I posted in another forum and most tell me to stay away from the Taurus autos. They say the revolvers are ok, but problems abound for the auto pistols. I'm thinking of sticking with the Springfield XD compact.

I'm not a fan of the Taurus brand myself. There auto's seem low on the quality scale when compared the the big names. I carry either my full size Kimber Custom II or my Kahr K9.

I love both of them equally. One is more suited to carry than the other of course.
