Squirrely Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Anyone use an aftermarket torsion key leveling kit? Everything I read says the truck maintains ride quality, handling, etc... I don't see how this is possible. I had my 03 keys cranked down to level the truck out, but then it rode like a ton of bricks on a pallet. How does a re-indexed key raise the front without making the suspension stiff? Is there something I'm not getting???
Maguillacutty Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I did the same thing on my 2007 GMC Sierra Z71 the ride is just a tad stiffer but it sure looks good. I am curious to can anyone shed some light on the deal. I want to get this truxxx leveling kit. http://truxxx.com/chevrolet_products/404035.htm
slugbelch Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Is it correct that everytime you adjust the keys, the front end needs alignment?

How does a re-indexed key raise the front without making the suspension stiff? Is there something I'm not getting??? I put in the plain old Ford keys in mine and installed new shocks and it rides like stock, but a little stiffer. People just bitch cause they expect a ride like a Cadillac in a 4x4. Is it correct that everytime you adjust the keys, the front end needs alignment? Not just that, but everytime you touch anything on the front end you will need an alignment.
