Crew Cab Rear Seats

i'm having some trouble with my rear seat backs....wondering if there is somethign wrong or if i'm just a little

 

my drivers side rear (60%) only seems to come down when it wants to...sometimes it hooks a little, sometimes its free and sometimes it wont come down at all. My passenger side will not come down at all...its locked and i can't figure out how to release it.

 

somebody please help me (i'm obviously not the brightest bulb in the box)

They must have improved the seatback release mechanism for the '07 model year.

i've got an 06...same problem with the NBS? or am i the only one having problems with the OBS?

did you move the front seat all the way forward? Did the cushion hit the floor when pulling up the bottom part?

I have an 07, it must not have affected these, cause I did not even know there was a lock mechanism.

the manual says theres a lock which must face rearward to unlock the seat...i've had no luck with this at all.

 

M.Cueva, will double check in a little bit to make sure i'm getting bottom all the way ahead.

I had the same problem, if the front of the seat cushion does not touch the floor, try pressing down on the seat cushion so that it is pressing down and then try to pull the seat back down....if there are any obstructions, it will not work (I know does not make sense explaining it...)

The Seat has to be on the floor, press it down as shown in the above pic

This is where the cable runs to the back hinge of the seat back on the crew cab....

the pics are great......and you are a genius!!! i wasn't putting the bottom ahead far enough to release the lock on the passenger side. my gf keeps the seat way back and tilted so it wouldn't go ahead far enough to release. I was getting the same problem on the drivers side if i didn't push the seat bottom far enough.

glad to help, my fiance does the same thing......just tell her to move the seat up when loading stuff I know I make my fiance put the seat, mirrors and radio back where I had them.....if not then I do it to her car and she hates it......
