Nbs Sub Amp Wiring For Line Out Converter

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I am the proud owner of a NBS GMC Siera Sle. I got the extended cab and I am going to be adding my sub and amp to the stock system later tonight after work. I got everything yesterday so i am good to go. Just a couple of questions.

I dont have bose just the single in-dash cd player.

1.) Where is the best place to locate the wires for the two rear speakers so that I can tap into them for the Line Out Converter. Looking for a place they are close together Hopefully next to eachother. Is there an amp for this system?

2.) Anyone know a place online to get a good preformed single 10" sub box for our trucks?

Thanks guys! Been reading this forum non stop for 24 hours. I might be single now that I bought this truck :dunno:

i had the mtx thunderlink put in my 07 ext cab siverado. I watched the guys over at circuit city do it. dont tap into the doors unless you really want to. instead do it at the head unit. its easier. just remove bez. and be sure not to snap any hooks and unscrew the hu. but if you dont know how to connect into head unit then just like your planing add speaker wire and run it to through the door and into the rubbery coil, down to where the speaker is and just tap into the +and-

i just have a quick tip for u.

u are going to need a remote line to turn your amps on , since factory cd players do not have this most people use a wire that powers up with the vehicle .

the company PAC make a line out converter that also has a built in remote trigger output. it use the little voltage from a speaker to convert it into a 12volt wire to turn on your amps. ( its good for 2 amplifiers ) it also has a one second turn on delay.

since u already have to tap into the speakers for the rca's u can hook up the one wire with those.

the model is called PAC Trunck-Loc . u should be able to pick one up on ebay between $20-$30 shipped.
