Escalade Mirrors On Gmt900 Sierra Denali

I ordered some Escalade mirrors ($383.54 out the door from Parts Zone Online) about two weeks ago and finally got around to installing them yesterday. I did it mainly for the chrome bottom section, but as an added bonus the puddle lights work as well (they retain the heated, dimming [on the driver's side], and turn signal functions as well). It wasn't exactly what one might call a "smooth install" but it's done. Getting the "luxury" door panels off on your first try is a pain in the ass. The passenger side went a bit smoother, but still not fun. I broke a few minor things, but nothing important. Never work on a vehicle when you're cold, sick and tired unless you absolutely must  . Anyways, the finished product looks great. The gaps are there at the bottom, as I knew they would be, but they're not too bad. I'm working in fabbing something up to take care of this, and I'll post some more pics when I do. In case anyone is interested in doing this themselves, here are the part numbers for the Escalade mirrors with the BLACK caps on top. Again, these would be for a BLACK truck (ideally):

Driver side: 25776161

Passenger side: 25776162

That's what I'm talkin' about! That looks very nice. When you get a chance, can you snap a picture of the gap left at the bottom of the mount? I have a buddy who just bought a Yukon Denali and he's thinking about doing this as well but he's worried about how the gap will look.

I've taken the one picture and increased the brightness and circled the gap; it's not very big. I'm working on a few things to take care of it. I'll let you fellas know how it turns out. Thanks for the kind words!

Will, I'd hardly say one tiny gap could take away from such an excellent addition to the truck. I think they look sexy.

Agreed.

Thanks for the link Pete. I'm not exactly firing on all cylinders today though, so maybe I missed it but...what exactly was the fix? He showed how to take the mirrors apart, and mentioned the gap, but I didn't see anything about fixing it. Did he put the old mirror surrounds back on?

But with what surround? The only painted surround is an Escalade. Unless he had a shop paint his Chevy ones.

Bostonsfavson: What was your total cost? I figured around 500$ last time I had part numbers for switches, mirrors, switch plate, etc... What are you thinking on doing to fix the hole? I would have to fix it, it would drive me nuts.

Andy, I have a feeling he may have used the surround off his old mirrors, and possibly painted it. All I needed was the mirrors, nothing else, so it cost me 385 dollars total. I'm working on a few things with the gaps, and hopefully will have some results this weekend.
