Door Jam Dirty?

ok so it's not really the door jam i guess

but it's part where the door closes near your feet or side....(above where a nerf bar would be()

anyways..

does yoru guys trucks get REALLY dirty there?!

i dont' understand why mine is caked in mud/dirt?

it's sealed off and it STILL gets stupid dirty

what's the deeeeal?

Well, if you don't wash it, it's gonna get pretty dirty. I know I always make the truck all shiny and clean, then I open up a door, and "Son of a..."

Hello, mine does the same thing, it's a poor design of the door seal in my opinion..i'm going to try and keep a spray bottle around to clean before i hit the wash..

Yep, just like anything else on a vehicle, it gets dirty. I always clean it along with everything else, including the dirt that gets inbetween the rubber seals around the door. Those things are dirt magnets.

i've just never seen any truck have this 'issue' before

it just seems so weird that the door is closed and it still gets muddy as f**k in there...

it gets in from under the front fender. I live on a gravel road & I always get dust & dirt in the cracks of my doors. My old Explorer got it alot, especially lifting the gate on it. I just take a wet rag at it & dry it when im all done drying outside.

Seems like the obvoius answer would be to wash it like the rest of the truck that also got dirty.

Start with mud flaps if you don't already have them. This will reduce, not eliminate, the problem. Then I use a 4" paint brush every time I wash the truck. Be sure to wrap electical tape over the metal part of the brush. You don't want to scratch things up. Open your doors, dip the brush in your bucket of soapy water, and pretend you're paintind the underside of your doors and jams. Close the doors, set your hose nozzle to steady jet stream and rinse. Open doors and dry off. Works great for me.
