Keyless Entry

I want to add factory keyless entry to my 2008 Silverado LS, what do I need to do this? And also want to add remote start?

Just put it in a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It has great range (about 1500 ft with some buildings in between). If you get it be sure and get the Passlock bypass (depending on which version of Passlock your truck has). Its not too bad to install it yourself, but you can also get it installed pretty cheap.

With the NBS trucks its a matter of some programming and the remote from the dealer. No wiring to do cuase its allready there. Not sure what it costs but it shouldnt be too much.

Thanks for the help i ordered the remotes for 125.00 with gm discount and alittle shop time and now I have keyless and remote start. thanks

I called the local dealership about adding RKE to my 2008 Silverado LS and they didnt know what I was talking about. They were quoting me major money in adding it. Is this something I could do myself? It has power windows and locks. I just didnt add RKE because I wanted keyless and remote start. I was planning on adding an aftermarket system to it. But if the price is right, I'd prefer OEM.

I went through 3 dealerships trying to add OEM keyless to my 07 Sierra. No dice. I even bought the OEM remotes and had 2 people (at the dealer) attempt to program it but it no workee. I ended up installing a DEI Viper keyless entry. The system functions like the OEM and remote range is about 3 times what my previous GM remotes had. Not exactly what I started out wanting but it works great and I am quite happy with it.

 

EDIT: I realize this is an older thread and the original poster made it work but apparently not all GMT900s are "keyless ready".
