Is there any device to lock your tail gate to your truck? so somebody cant steal the whole tail gate off the truck?

i seen a peice of metal that goes around the right hinge that is tightened by a hex screw so they cant lift it off in like 1 min it will deter them quite a bit, but wont stop them.

 

The person that gave me this tailgate is sorta telling me that he wants more money for it now that it is all painted and looks really really nice and that if i dont hes going to steal it or wreck it.

Or just weld the right hinge shut. Who really needs to take the tailgate off anyway.

 

Well, you could also just buy a handle that locks so he can't even open it. Then if/when he does wreck it, he gets to buy you a new one since he told you he would wreck it.

and tell him to kiss your ass.. you worked to get that tailgate to look good, it is like if you sell your truck and somebody puts $50,000.00 into it to make it look good and then you say "Hey that is a great looking truck, I want $10,000.00 more"

i was thinking that but i really have nothing to lock other than the hinges, i dont have a tonoue cover or anything, i was thinking a key, the pace edwards all have key transmitter

There are a lot of tailgate locks. Pop-n-lock makes one that is an easy fit. There are also some that are powered and will lock and unlock automatically when your truck is locked and unlocked.

i was thinking something other than the tailgate handel lock but now thinking about it, if they cant open the tailgate it wont lift out without getting the 3 torx bolts out and screwing with the stuff inside.

i dont have powered door locks or anything so that wouldnt be much use ;D but thanks for your help
