wondering if anyone has access (if it exists!) to a ext cab gmt 900 illustration showing all parts located in the Rear passenger B pillar including seat belt brakets, and the plastic panel.

my truck has been at the dealer due to a rattling in that area. apparently when un-named outsourced provider serviced my sunroof they broke a 'clip' or some part, and that is causing the rattle. the dealer is replacing this mystery part under warranty. the service person at the dealer, cant tell me the part number cuz she is unsure of it. the parts dept thought they ordered the right part last week but once it came in yesterday it wasnt the right one. it all sounds very strange to me. they have re order this piece on special order and could come in a few days or few weeks! i was hopign they coudl take the part out of the truck on the lot, get me going and when the part comes in they can put it in the donor truck. the service person told me that the clip or part was as big as my arm. they only thing my buddy can think of what it is, is what appears to a metal tube back there? (he looked at his truck and thats all he saw)

so in summation, i wanted an illustartion of this B pillar in hopes to get some insight as to what the part is and why the problems in ordering it. i hope tomorrow will shed more light on the subject.im dissapointed in my service contact as she is clueless in what part it is. it doesnt seem liek she is payign attention to what the techinician is telling her...so she is inadequate in giving me more information.

Not sure if this really helps, but I went ahead and posted most of the diagrams that are associated with the sunroof, also included the rear passenger section. I do not have access to the parts information directly (for part number or usage) but Rich (MS3DALE) does have access to that system

WOW Mike....Props to you not only in this thread but on the many others. It seems like your always ready to help out a fellow forum member either its with TSB's Vin and build sheets and now this kudos (sp) to ya!!! :)

Posted

I do it because I know there will be a day when I will have the most retarded question that has a simple answer....and someone will extend me the same courtesy. Thanks to everyone here for their help with my truck projects......it aint easy for a college student though :)

Mike, you def help out a lot and you fast responses, TSB postings, and the effort you put in is greatly appreciated! especially last week when i PM you for a mstery TSB that i thought at the time was the issue. props to rich as well as he has helped me a bunch of times in the past with part numbers and build sheets.

the pics do help, i should have stated it was an aftermarket sunroof. but the B pillar pics give me an idea , in the the second to last diagram that you posted, i wonder when my service ocntact said clip, she meant the whole entire plastic panel that fits over the B pillar (i think its refered to in the diagram as a 'Body Lock Pillar Garnish ...'

perhaps the have to order that entire panel cuz a single clip on it broke..?

thanks again!!
