Pics Of Trucks With Torsion Crank

i am looking for some pics of trucks that have tightened there torsion bars to level it out.. i am just trying to determine if this is all i need...i am looking just for that little extra stance and room for some bigger tires... i have a stock 2002 gmc sierra 1500 EC SB.......just looks like the back sits so much higher and was wondering if i can level the front and exactly how much safely.. i know that u can run into CV probs and Ball joint probs but i am sure there is a safe amount that i can lift it without hurting anything.. and yes i will go get it aligned after..

so if you have pics or some info for me it would be appreciated.....

See my signature...I got the bars cranked up around 40,000 miles and I now have 110,000 miles with no front end problems. Is your truck 4WD? I don't think the 2WD trucks have torsion bars. It made a huge difference. One thing to note - right after you get the bars cranked up you will have to have your front end re-aligned.

Good luck.

Here are some OLD pics of my truck (from 2001). I know I have some newer pics with the 17" wheels and the Trailboss rear bumper but I can't find them.

Hmm. Nice. So if I understand correctly, this is just a tune of existing parts. It doesn't require new parts or kits installed right ?

How much lifting it up of 1.5 inch could cost ?

It cost nothing if you have a jack, two jack stands, a wrench, and some kind of paint/marker. I don't remember the exact procedure (it was 9 years ago) but it went something like...jack the truck until the wheels have no weight on the them (just like changing a tire), place stands, crawl under truck and make a "story" mark on each torsion bolt so you can keep track of each turn and do the exact amount of turns to the other side. I think we cranked mine 4 full turns and then lowered the truck to check it. It was good so we left it at 4 turns.

I guess mine is only cranked about 1.5" since after 125K miles I don't have any suspension issues.
