Ground 110

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 2000 Sierra 1500 4.3L V6 Standard cab short bed pickup truck. The ABS and Brake lights come on periodically and I'm told I need to clean and reground the Electronic Brake Control Module... the ground on my truck is supposed to be ground number 110.

Where do I find a picture or discription of where this ground wire is and are there any special parts I need to use while doing this proceedure?

There have been 25 people look at my posting and nobody has responded to help... what a bunch of, well... use your imagination.

I guess the best advise I have gotten to date is from my Son who tells me my next truck should be a Toyota!

Just because people review your post doesn't mean that they have the answer you're looking for. Try using the SEARCH feature and odds are you'll find the answer you're looking for or otherwise just be patient. As far as the toyota goes you might want to do a little more research concerning the problems they are having before actually jumping in the fire. Good luck!

Toyota??? your son's an IDIOT!

That was just a little out of line don't you think Ryan? His son is like the majority of the rest of American youth that have no clue as to how the auto makers in this country supported this nation in the past. They all believe that Toyota, Honda and Nissan are far superior in every aspect. I used to have a Harley t-shirt that said it best, "Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha - all made by the same great people that brought you Pearl Harbor. Enough said as far as I'm concerned...:D

That was a little out of line, yes, but to be fair, so was the rant and imaginary name calling from the OP.

John is right, sometimes people don't know the answer right away and in this case, what you are asking about is not something extremely common so it should come as no surprise that it would take some time to find an answer. This is not Google, it's a community of guys who desire to help each other when they can.

Not everyone here knows everything about every GM truck and that's just a matter of fact. You'll find that sometimes, although someone hasn't responded right away, they may in fact be looking for the answer for you. I have spent hours searching for answers for guys before and would have written it off as time wasted had I returned to answer a question and found such a juvenile rant because somebody didn't get their answer as fast as they wanted it.

If you want it faster, go pay for it, otherwise, relax and let the site do what it does. You'll get to the answer, most likely, you just have to be patient sometimes.

Now, welcome to the site and hopefully one of the guys who's had experience with this will be along soon.

Bill,

I was one of the 25 offenders that read your post, and I did not respond because I did not know the answer. I actually got up, went to my garage and looked for my manual but could not locate it. I apologize for not meeting your standards, next time I will post "I looked but couldn't find it" in hopes that you will find this helpful, and prevent you from making posts such as that!

If the wiring on your 2000 is the same on my 2002 (and i assume it is) check behind the left front body mount and G110 along w/ G302 should be right there. G110 should be the inboard ground but try following the wiring harness from the ABS pump to it to make sure. As far as the TSB I have no clue but once again try a search here or maybe one of the guys that has access to that type of information will send you the particulars concerning it.

I dont really think that was too out of line there bossier, i mean we've all looked at people in toyota trucks and thought, look at that idiot! i know i have. Anyways you are right how MOST of the youth NOT all have no clue as to how important our automotive history is, I am 23 and happen know how important it is espically because im a 3rd generation GM employee. What gets me is the people that think "i'll show the big 3 and buy foreign" but in the big picture there only contributing to the weaking US economy, and its not just the American auto worker loosing their job because they bought foreign, it has a long trickle effect throught the US job market. Anyways i'll stop hijacking this thread i've made my point, oh and plus how could you feel like a man driving a toyota truck???

Hey I'm with ya man...it's good to know that you're informed...I am recently retired from the Air Force after 25 years of service and recently learned that the USAF has decided to buy a new tanker aircraft utilizing an Airbus airframe instead of going w/ Boeing whom has proved themselves time and time again. It's nice to know our so called leaders are selling us out now as well... :D

I just got back from a trip to Rome Italy for work.... The people there pride themselves in products "Made In Italy". Generally Americans pride themselves in "CHEAP" ... TOO bad we are not more like Italy with our own Country. If we were, our own local manufacturing companies wouldnt have to cheapen their product to keep up with CHINA and JAPAN.

Sometimes you have the choice:

$15 product made in Japan, supporting Japanise workers

OR

$17 product made in USA, supporting your neighbor.

To me the choice is easy, but alot of people dont see past the $2 more in price.

We're not talking about a $15 item here....we're talking about a matter of national security. You'll be affected one day, don't worry. Now I think we've gotten way off topic on this one so let's drop it and help the guy find his ground location.
