Removing Grill

I'd like to have the black plastic 'spacers' between my upper and lower headlight painted Victory Red to match my truck but I've heard varying things about if they're part of the grill and would have to be taken out as one entire piece. Is that the case or do I just need to pop out both head lamps and get those out and have them painted?

I don't know why you would take them out to paint them? I pulled my lights, masked off everything else and then sanded and painted them on the truck inside the garage. I have a large black drop bumper on the rear and I did the same with it too. Pulled the tailgate, masked off everything else. It's alot easier and faster too.

I am pretty sure it is all one piece. Look up replacement grills and you will see one like yours and they are one piece.
