I've got a 04 Envoy with the big inline six cylinder motor. BTW, this has been the greatest motor I've ever had. I've had this SUV everywhere, and it has gotten me home each time.

I bought the car from a rental company, which was against my better judgement, but got lucky. Ever since I've had the car I've had cranking problems. In other words, it takes me about 3 tries to start the car. If I just left the thing crank on the first try, it would take forever to start. Like I say, I give it about 3 short clicks, and by the 3rd try it usually starts. Now I've had this car the the dealer many times while it was on warranty, and they told me that if the computer doesn't say you have a problem, then you don't have a problem. Typical, dealer s**t. Well most mechanics talk about sensors that need replacing, and by the time they get an idea what they want to do, the quote is way up there. (600)

Has anyone had this problem, or do you know who can help me? BTW, are there any lube fittings on this model?

Peace Out,'

It sounds like your starter is going bad. I had to click my '94 a few + times before it would start and then I replaced the starter and it starts on the first try every time now.

Have the battery tested, check all the wires and connections from the battery to the starter, and wires leading from the starter.
