Silverado Width W/ Mirrors

Recommended Posts

Can someone with the new Silverado please let me know the width of the truck including the mirrors, and I'm talking about the optional trailer mirrors. I need to know the width with the mirrors not folded against the body, but not extended all the way for towing.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks, Bob

This may not help too much, I have not measured mine, but it does fit in my garage.

I have 9' wide doors on the garage and it fits with 1-2" to spare on either side.

So I would guess it is about 8'-8" wide.

what mirrors do you have, the '01 - '05? or the '06 trailer mirrors? be more specific. My trucks mirrors stick out about 1ft when unfolded, and about another ft extended, maybe 5" folded. So take those estimate & add the same to the opposite side & figure out if your truck will fit through your garage unfolded.

I put a deposit down on a `08 Silverado 2500HD that has the large camping mirrors. My garage door are also 9' wide but the actual opening is 8' 9". I hope I at least have an inch or 2 clearance on both sides or else my wife will never be able to get it in & out.

Plus she has a habit of hitting things in the garage. Two years ago she let her foot slip off the brake pulling into the garage and destroyed my kids electric scooter and smashed into the garage cabinets. A few years before that she got distracted by the kids and hit the wall between the 2 garage door openings. Had to have a guy come and replace a few cinder blocks in the foundation.

I guess I can just not let her drive it. :D

I have an 07.5 with the "Deluxe Wide Load Heated Exterior Mirrors"

Yes the mirrors probably stick out about 12" each.

I think the body is about 80" wide, 6'-8", and the mirrors stick out about 1' in their minimum extension unfolded position, giving about 8'-8" or 104" wide.

I think my garage opening is 8'-10"

I will measure when I get home.

Since we're all bragging about the size of our mirrors, mine just has teh regular ones as you can see, but I did add the power folding option. Thank goodness I did, because it wouldn't fit in the garage if they didn't fold in. You all must have larger garage doors than me???

I measured the truck.

My 07.5 2500HD with "Deluxe Wide Load Heated Exterior Mirrors (RPO is DPN)" is about 101" wide.

My 9' garage opening is about 106" wide.

Great, thanks for the help! My garage opening is 105" wide so that will give me 2" to spare on each side. Good enough for me but I know my wife won't be able to do it. I guess I'll have to drive it in & pull it out for her.

My GM extended Towing Mirrors are 106" but I can't see the sides of my 8.5' car hauler. I wish I knew how to remove the mirror heads so that I could install longer tubing to extend them another 2" per side. Jim

Why does GM not offer power fold on those behemoths like Ford does. Only problem I see with them.

Expense. Ford only offers that on top-trim trucks I'm pretty sure. Maybe we'll see it on the new trucks. I've yet to see a 2014 with tow mirrors so who knows.
