Gxm30 Mounting Location?

HI, Anybody have the GXM30 antenna mounted in your 07-08 NBS pickup?

Trying to figure out where to put it, out of sight if possible.

Are you trying to add XM to the factory deck, or did you replace the Factory Deck with aftermarket? If you had XM originally and are putting in aftermarket deck, just unplug the antenna from the factory box behind the glovebox, and plug it into your new xm. The factory XM antenna will plug into XM and sirius without modification.

I am replacing the factory radio, not XM ready.

I bought the DNX7100 kenwood and the GXM30 for xm radio/weather/traffic

the gxm30 is pretty large and was trying to see if anybody "hid" one in ther nbs silverado.dont want to drill hole in roof or lay on dash if possible.

Mine will be going in this weekend and I'm planningon putting it up behind the glovebox. I had an ipod adapter there before and it fit in really easy.

 

I'll let you know how it turns out.

I have the GXM30 Antenna mounted in my airplane. It is mounted out of sight, under the glareshield. Works great.

 

You should be able to mount it on the dash, just under the plastic. There should be enough room, somewhere under there.

Well, my idea of putting it under the dash didn't work out. I put it up behind the glovebox and airbag and the reception was horrible. It's laying on the dash for now. I'm going to mount it under my tonneau cover when I run the cable for my backup camera. I'll probalby mount the GPS antenna there as well. That works under the dash but it blocks out about ahlf the satellites.

Has anyone found a good location to mount the actual brain box of it? I got a Pioneer GEX-P920XM sat control box for a Pioneer in-dash nav/gps (AVIC-D3) and the only place I could mount it was on the front tunnel right above the gas pedal.
