Oem Exhaust System

Just curious, has anyone with a 99 and up model year ever had to replace exhaust parts? As far as I can tell everything is ss so it should last the life of the truck unless it gets damaged, hitting a rock, etc.

On my 1990 Chevrolet 1500 with 140,000 miles, I still have the original cat. converter. Muffler and pipes have been replaced multiple times.

 

It's a good question, though, how long does the factory exhaust ss system last?

Ditto for my old 2000, bought new in fall of 99. My brother now drives it, and the exhaust is perfectly fine after 9 Minnesota winters.

Was exhaust stainless steel before 1999? What year did they start with the stainless steel?

My 1992 Bonneville had the stock stainless exhaust...never replaced...looked nasty but still worked...I sold my Bonne after 7 years and the guy that bought it kept it for four more years and never replaced it...
